What we count
This site counts visits without cookies, and the Stintwise app sends nothing unless you switch it on.
This website
When you open a page, your browser tells our own server, and nobody else:
- which page it is, and which page of this site you came from;
- the site that linked you here, as its domain only (for example
google.com, never the full address); - whether your screen is phone, tablet or desktop sized;
- when you leave: roughly how long you read (in steps such as "1 to 3 minutes"), how far down you scrolled (in quarters), how long the page took to load (in steps), how many script errors happened (the number only), and which of the site's buttons, menu links and questions you used.
We add these up into totals per page and day. We don't keep a record of each visit. There are no cookies, nothing is saved in your browser for this, and there are no third-party trackers.
To count visitors as well as views, the server makes a one-way code from your IP address and browser name, mixed with a random value that is replaced every day. The codes are deleted when the day ends. Your IP address itself is never stored, and we can't follow anyone from one day to the next. Known robots are not counted.
Our web server's logs for this site record the time, the address of the page or file asked for and whether it worked. They don't record your IP address or the page you came from.
The Stintwise app
Usage reports are off unless you switch them on, in setup or under Settings → Privacy. When they are on, Stintwise sends a short report once a week: its version, the plan, which games and how many servers you run, rounded counts (such as how many events), which features and pages are used, and a random ID made when you switched it on. It never sends names, SteamIDs, IP addresses, server or league names, or licence keys. Settings shows you the exact report before it is sent.
We don't store the IP address a report comes from, in the reports or in the web server's logs. Reports are kept for 400 days. Switching reports off deletes the ID on your machine.
